ROCKPORT — Kassidy Lobb’s third-period goal lifted the Edward Little field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Camden Hills on Tuesday.
Reegan Saunders assisted on Lobb’s goal. Goalie Sophia Gerry made five saves for Edward Little (1-1).
Abby Strout stopped three shots in goal for Camden Hills (0-2).
LEWISTON 1, HAMPDEN 0: Two games, two double overtimes for the Blue Devils so far this season. They finally scored a goal, which lifted them to victory over the Broncos in Hampden.
Lauren Cote scored the game’s only goal on a penalty corner. It was set up by Valerie Potvin.
Blue Devils (1-0-1) goalie Sara Mack made seven saves. She was helped by the defensive efforts of Emma Mills, who made important stops on Hampden breakaways.
Broncos goalie Mabel Hawkes finished with 14 saves.
Lewiston played Brunswick to a 0-0 tie on Thursday.
BOYS SOCCER
LEAVITT 3, CONY 2: Vanya Bezhenar scored twice as the Hornets earned their first win of the season in Augusta.
Jacob Gibbs also scored for Leavitt (1-1), and Jake Dening had an assist. Carter Fleischer scored for Cony (1-1).
Alex Corey made 13 saves in goal for Leavitt, while Cony counterpart Jadyn Nora had seven.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 4, OAK HILL 0: Youth served up a win for the Mustangs in an MVC win in Monmouth.
Freshman Zane Foyt scored twice for Monmouth, while fellow freshman Bryce Fletcher and sophomore Vasili Bendo also had goals. Jake Harmon, Tyler Johnson and Gavin Parsons tallied an assist each.
Mustangs (2-0) goalie Lewis Lamoreau stopped all five shots he faced and earned a shutout with the help of defenders Bingham Abbott, Sam Schultz,Gabe Godbout, Will Hamel and James Paradis.
Wyatt Blier made 18 saves for Oak Hill (1-1), and Monmouth coach Joe Fletcher noted that Drew Hatala and Jordan Castonguay played solid for the Raiders in the midfield.
EDWARD LITTLE 0, CAMDEN HILLS 0: The Red Eddies (0-0-1) and the Windjammers (1-0-1) played to a scoreless draw in Rockport.
The early season matchup between traditional Class A North contenders was a defensive battle devoid of offense. Neither goalie needed to make a save because neither team put a shot on goal.
BANGOR 2, MT. BLUE 0: Mason Studley and Raiden Sudborough scored as the Rams prevailed in Farmington.
Maddox Smith made six saves in goal for Bangor (2-0), while Kooper Keller stopped eight shots for Mt. Blue (1-1).
