JAY — Absentee ballot applications are now available for the Nov. 5 election.
Absentee ballots will be sent to voters beginning in early October and available through Thursday, Oct. 31. After Oct. 31, voters must meet the special circumstances requirement to be eligible for an absentee ballot.
Voters who will be at least 65 years of age by the next election or who self-identify as having a disability may apply for ongoing absentee voter status. A voter who qualifies will automatically receive an absentee ballot for each statewide election, municipal election and any other election for which the voter is eligible to vote and need not submit a request for each election.
The form is available online but must be returned to the Town Office in person, by mail or through the drop box.
Voters can request an absentee ballot at the Town Office, by calling 207-897-6785, or by visiting maine.gov/sos/cec/elec/voter-info/absent.html.
Forms are available at maine.gov or by calling or stopping in the Town Office.
