Vernon Roger Daigle

LEWISTON – Vernon Roger Daigle, A.K.A “Poppsie”, 88, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at the Andwell Hospice House after a 16 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born on March 4, 1936, a son to Omar and Eva Daigle.

He grew up in Fort Kent and attended local schools. He met the love of his life, Jacqueline and the two were married for many wonderful years until her passing.

In his career, he was a well-known hand sewer at a local shoe shop and was a true master of all trades.

Vernon leaves behind his children Jim and wife Debbie, Sandy and her husband Marc; as well as his grandchildren Michelle Cheche (Matthew), Cory Daigle (Nikole), Ryan Beaulieu (Courtney), Sarah Gauthier (Joe) and Jordan Tracey; his great grandchildren Caleb, Connor, CJ, Parker and Jayden. He also leaves behind his two brothers Larry Daigle and Reynald Daigle.

He was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife Jacqueline; and many brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Vernon will take place on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a Liturgy of the Word to follow at 12 p.m. Committal Prayers will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery following the Liturgy of the Word.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who loved Vernon and cared for him during his years battling cancer and his final days of his life.
