FARMINGTON — Agusti Garcia netted a hat trick as the Mt. Blue boys soccer team defeated Mountain Valley 6-0 on Saturday.
Nate Zeliger had two goals and an assist for the Cougars (4-4), and Kaden Smith added a goal and an assist. Nick Overton, Julian Reynolds and Connor Greenleaf also assisted.
Mt. Blue keeper Kooper Keller stopped one shot, while Ben DeSalle made 14 saves for Mountain Valley (0-8-2).
BREWER 2, EDWARD LITTLE 1: The Witches ended the Red Eddies’ six-game winning streak with an upset in Brewer.
Nick Godfrey and Charlie Brydges scored for Brewer (2-7), while Mudasir Hassan netted Edward Little’s (6-2-1) goal.
The Red Eddies were aggressive offensively, but Witches goalie Eli Ouellette was stout with nine saves. Logan Martin stopped six shots for Edward Little.
TELSTAR 2, RANGELEY 0: Cyrus Mills scored the first goal and assisted on the second in the Rebels’ win over the Lakers in Rangeley.
Tommy Lapointe scored the second goal. Maceo Bartlett assisted on Mills’ goal.
Telstar (7-2) goalie Adam Stephenson finished with six saves, while Zack Madrid stopped eight shots for Rangeley (3-7).
FOOTBALL
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 42, WATERVILLE 16: Quarterback Kobi Conant played a role in all six Patriots (3-2) touchdowns in their victory over the Purple Panthers (0-5) in Waterville.
Conant ran for four touchdowns, gaining 53 yards on nine carries, and completed 11 of 18 passes for 325 yards and two scores.
Three Gray-New Gloucester players had more than 100 yards receiving: Isaac Ormberg caught five of those passes for 114 yards and at TD, Kody Tracy had four receptions for 110 yards, and Brody Tracy made two catches for 101 yards, highlighted by an 86-yard touchdown.
FIELD HOCKEY
BREWER 4, EDWARD LITTLE 1: Four different players scored as the Witches won in Brewer.
Syrian Zavala, Lydia Jordan, Paige Oakes and Jordin Williams netted goals for the Witches (7-1), and goalie Abbie Desrosier made one save.
Marina Morgan scored for Edward little (3-5), and Ruby Harris made nine saves.
MT. BLUE 7, LEWISTON 0: Three players scored two goals apiece as the Cougars won in Farmington.
Abbi Donald, Grace Allen and Lily Huntley each had two goals for Mt. Blue (5-2), with Donald netting her first two at the varsity level. Alyssa Parker also scored. Huntley and Bree Griffin dished out two assists, while Donald, Allen, Piper Wojcik. Morgan Hersey and Summer Sawyer had one each.
Sarah Mack made 14 saves in goal for Lewiston (3-5-1).
GIRLS SOCCER
FREEPORT 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Kenzie Cochran and Ella Tracy each had a goal and an assist for the Falcons (5-3-1) against the Patriots (3-6-1) in Freeport.
Tracy set up Keely Furtney in the 18th minute and scored the go-ahead goal from Cochran nine minutes into the second. Cochran scored off a corner kick by Lucy Riggs for the final goal with 2:40 left.
Laney Farrar put in a chip from Leah DesMaris late in the first half. Hailey Carson made 12 saves for the Patriots.
RANGELEY 4, TELSTAR 1: The Rebels (5-4) earned the win in Rangeley.
Hayley Smith scored an unassisted goal for Telstar (1-7), while Baylee Dunham made her debut in goal.
MT. BLUE 4, SKOWHEGAN 2: Natalee Orr and Alaya Smith scored two goals apiece as the Cougars rallied back to beat the River Hawks in Farmington.
Skowhegan (3-4-1) scored the first two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, a free kick by Allee Goodrich and Allie Frey off an assist from Madi Flannery, to take a quick 2-0 lead.
Lily Hastings set up Orr’s first goal late in the first half, then Abby Dorr assisted on Orr’s equalizer early in the second half. Smith added goals three and six minutes later off assists by Kari Savage and Nina Bogar.
Skowhegan goalie Natalie Cook stopped seven shots, while Mt. Blue (4-4) duo Ava Davis and Destiny Hensley each made one save.
