Photographs by Gene Hamm and Richard Plourde will be on display during the month of October in the Woman’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Hamm developed an interest in photography thirty-five years ago. After retiring from the Navy, he has spent the last twenty years traveling and photographing throughout the United States and Canada, spending time in every state but Hawaii. As a member of the Photographic Society of America, he has successfully competed in photo salons in the United States and internationally. He has obtained a PSA Five Star Rating in the Nature Provisions. Memberships in various camera clubs has kept him motivated. Recently his photos have been displayed in the Fort Myers Beach Library and Broadway Palms Theater in Fort Myers, Florida, and in the Topsham Library in Maine.

Plourde has had a lifelong passion for being artistically creative. As the former art director for the Geiger owned, Lewiston-based publication, “Farmers’ Almanac,” he designed each annual edition. A Lewiston-based digital artist and photographer, he loves capturing and sharing moments in time. He has become locally known for his stunning photos of Lewiston-Auburn highlighting popular locations and iconic structures including the Bernard Lown Peace Bridge and the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

The works on display may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop located adjacent to the main lobby at Central Maine Medical Center. A percentage of sale proceeds benefits patients of CMMC.
