Two native seed sowing workshops are planned by University of Maine Cooperative Extension and McLaughlin Garden and Homestead.
The workshops are set for 4-5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Tidewater Farm, 200 Presumpscot Point Road in Falmouth, and 2-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the UMaine Extension office, 9 Olson Road in South Paris.
These workshops are ideal for anyone interested in a cost-effective way to grow more native plants for their gardens. Participants will learn the basics of successful native seed starting and can sow their own seeds to take home.
For information, call the workshop organizers at 207-781-6099 for the Falmouth workshop and 207-743-8820 for the South Paris workshop, or email extension.gardening@maine.edu.
