LEWISTON — Police responded Tuesday night to reports of gunshots on Pine Street, according to officials.

Lewiston Police Lt. Derrick St. Laurent said around 7:54 p.m., witnesses reported hearing a disturbance near 202 Pine St. before hearing gunshots and observing people fleeing the area.

Police canvassed the area and found property damaged by bullets, he said.

There was no evidence suggesting anyone was injured or hit by the gunfire.

The investigation is ongoing, St. Laurent said.
