The Rangeley Friends of the Arts announces its schedule of free holiday events.
RFA will host its annual Holiday Open House from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. The event is open to the public. Light complementary refreshments will be served. A beer and wine cash bar will be available. Highlights from the 2024 season will be shown on the Big Screen. In the LCAG gallery, Kristin Horton paintings will be on display.
On Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. “A Christmas Story” at the Lakeside Theater.
Join RFA for a special showing of the 1983 holiday film classic “A Christmas Story” on the big screen at the RFA’s Lakeside Theater, sponsored by Historic Rangeley. There will be a pop-up holiday market in the lobby starting at 6 p.m. where guests can purchase unique holiday gifts from Historic Rangeley’s museum store. All purchases support Historic Rangeley, a 501c3 nonprofit organization

On Sunday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. 45th annual Walk to Bethlehem Pageant and performance.
The Rangeley Friends of the Arts will present the 45th Annual “Walk to Bethlehem” on Sunday, Dec. 8. Join friends and neighbors caroling through the snowy streets followed by a family-oriented Christmas presentation of music and drama highlighting the talent of local young people. The event ends with a traditional nativity pageant where a local family with a baby will portray the holy family.
The “Walk” will begin at The Rangeley Inn at 5:30 p.m. with the reading of Caesar Augustus’ decree that all people must return to the city of their birth. The community is invited to join in as costumed nativity figures lead the procession of carolers through the town. The Walkers reach the Church of the Good Shepherd at approximately 6 p.m. where the holiday program takes place. Visit rangeleyarts.org for the carols.
Rangeley Community Chorus will present its annual Holiday Concert on Friday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 2614 Main St. in Rangeley. Enjoy classic Christmas music and original holiday works from the chorus as well as soloists and small group selections. The Holiday Concert is directed and accompanied by Sue Downes-Borko.

The Rangeley Community Chorus is a group which includes both year-round and seasonal residents of the Rangeley area and members from surrounding towns. The chorus is sponsored by the Rangeley Friends of the Arts, a non-profit organization celebrating over 50 years of bringing “the arts to life” in the Rangeley Lakes Region.
