AUBURN — A local man was charged Tuesday with robbery and dealing marijuana, among other crimes.

Ryan Jolicoeur, 39, was indicted by an Androscoggin County grand jury in three cases that included two charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, each crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison. A third drug trafficking crime is punishable by up to five years in prison.

He was also charged with robbery and theft stemming from an August incident during which he is accused of stealing a cellphone and clothing.

Local police had been conducting a long-term investigation into an alleged drug trafficking operation at Jolicoeur’s Fifth Street home.

Jolicoeur was suspected of selling large quantities of marijuana to a customer base that included juveniles, police said.

One juvenile told police he was walking in New Auburn when Jolicoeur pulled over, got out of his vehicle, threatened him and took his sweatshirt, phone and shoes before driving away.

The witness said Jolicoeur came back minutes later and assaulted him over a past drug transaction, police said.

Officers with the Auburn Police Department’s Proactive Community Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at Jolicoeur’s home where they discovered over 20 pounds of marijuana, marijuana products, scales and about $1,600 in suspected drug proceeds while also seizing several of his vehicles, police said.

Jolicoeur faces the aggravated drug charges because of the amount of marijuana and proximity to a park designated as a safe zone by the Auburn City Council.

Jolicoeur was held at the Androscoggin County Jail without bail, according to a corrections officer.
