PARIS — Brayden Murch’s strong finish helped the Oxford Hills boys basketball team edge Cony 70-67 in overtime on Friday.
Murch scored 34 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter when the Vikings (2-1) overcame a seven-point deficit, and then he scored nine in overtime. He made 13 field goals and was 8-of-10 shooting at the free-throw line.
Brady Delamater hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points for the Vikings, while Cam Pulkkinen added 10 and Carter Holbrook had eight.
Jordan Benedict led the Rams (1-2) with 21 points. Parker Morin finished with 11 and Keenan Clark and Ian Lasselle had nine apiece.
FALMOUTH 66, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 62: Davis Mann poured in 28 points, and Billy Birks added 19 to lead the Navigators (1-1) over the Patriots (0-3) in Gray.
Colby Mitchell led Gray-New Gloucester with 19 points. Isaiah Portas and John Patenaude each scored 11.
LAKE REGION 54, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 40: Jacoby Bardsley made four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points, and the Lakers (2-0) beat the Falcons (1-2) in Naples.
Ben Desalle led Mountain Valley with 10 points.
MT. ABRAM 60, WATERVILLE 49: The Roadrunners broke open a close game with a 35-point second half to win in Waterville.
Bryce Wilcox scored a game-high 21 points for Mt. Abram (2-0), while Brennan Mitchell added 17 points and Killian Pillsbury 16.
Waterville (1-2) was led by Derek Couture with 17 points and Jacoby Sirois with 12.
ST. DOMINIC 63, LISBON 35: Taylor Varney poured in 23 points to help the Saints (3-0) remain undefeated with a victory over the Greyhounds in Auburn.
Jonathan Tangilamesu and Isaac Yombe added 10 points apiece for St. Dom’s.
Lisbon (0-3) was led by Jaxson Roy-Thompson with 11 points and Keeghan Morrissette with 10.
RANGELEY 73, VINALHAVEN 42: Anthony Whittier scored 25 points and pulled down 22 rebounds in the Rangers’ (1-1) win over the Vikings (0-3) in Rangeley.
Keegan O’Neil also had a prolific game for Rangeley, hitting four 3-pointers and scoring 22 points.
Hunter Hamilton and Anthony Roberts were Vinalhaven’s top scorers with nine points each.
LEWISTON 54, FREEPORT 52: Lonnie Thomas scored 15 points to pace the Blue Devils (1-2) past the Falcons (1-2) in Lewiston.
Joao Samba chipped in 11 points for Lewiston.
Conner Smith made four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points for Freeport. Drew Pound added 13 points, and Bruce Dwyer also hit four treys for 12 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
OXFORD HILLS 57, CONY 50: Ella Pelletier’s 34-point onslaught led the Vikings (3-0) past the Rams (2-1) in Augusta.
Pelletier’s output included three 3-pointers and 9-of-11 shooting at the free-throw line. Maddy Herrick hit a pair of 3s and added 13 points for Oxford Hills.
Abby Morrill made three 3-pointers and led Cony with 18 points, while Morgan Fichthorn made 8 of 10 free throws and scored 14 points.
EDWARD LITTLE 39, HAMPDEN 32: The Red Eddies defense allowed only seven first-half points in their win over the Broncos in Hampden.
Edward Little (2-1) led 16-7 at halftime, then both offenses got going in the second half.
Rachel Penny made two 3-pointers and led the Red Eddies with 10 points. Alexis Creaser and Hope Fontaine added eight apiece and Layla Facchiano scored seven points.
Hampden’s (1-1) Katelyn Adams hit four 3s and topped all scorers with 14 points.
FREEPORT 47, LEWISTON 21: Maddie Cormier’s 19 points paced the Falcons (1-2) past the Blue Devils (0-3) in Freeport.
Cormier made 9 of 11 free throws to go with five field goals. Izzy Orlando contributed 14 points to Freeport’s victory.
Ella Beaudoin and Bailey Tardif-Mockler led Lewiston with eight points each.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 78, FALMOUTH 21: Izzy Morelli paced a balanced attack with 19 points, and the Patriots (2-1) used their pressure defense to roll past the Navigators (1-2) in Falmouth.
Gray-New Gloucester also got 13 points from Laney Farrar and 10 from Ella Kenney.
Elle Foley led Falmouth with seven points.
LEAVITT 49, OAK HILL 28: The Hornets’ defense created fast-break opportunities that helped them buzz past the Raiders in Wales.
Caitlyn McCoy hit three 3-pointers and put up a game-high 15 points for Leavitt (1-1). Gabrielle Smith added 13 points and Jordyn Boulay had nine.
Shelby Elwell, Caroline Reedy and Mackenzee Wardell each scored six points for Oak Hill (1-3)
POLAND 59, NOBLE 26: Poland (3-0) opened up a 14-2 lead after one quarter and cruised to a victory over Noble (0-3) in Poland.
Payton Rose led Poland’s balanced attack with 12 points. Charlotte Grenier added 11, Ruby Taylor scored 10, Lise Poublan had nine, Phoebe Paradis eight and Alaina Hamlin seven.
Aubrey Brennan was Noble’s top scorer with nine points.
ST. DOMINIC 65, LISBON 30: The Saints (1-2) defeated the Greyhounds (0-3) in Auburn to earn their first victory of the season.
Charli Apodaca and Juju Farrington led St. Dom’s with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Chloe Croteau added 13 points and Piper Croteau had 10.
Elizabeth Ferero scored 17 points for Lisbon, while Hannah Perron finished with eight.
DIRIGO 33, TRAIP ACADEMY 21: Abby Luczynski had a double-double as the Cougars (1-3) defeated the Rangers (1-2) in Dixfield.
Luczynski scored 11 points and had 13 rebounds and five steals. Sophia Nino finished with eight points and five rebounds.
Lilly Stuart had eight points for Traip.
MONMOUTH 50, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 31: Kaitlyn Frost’s all-round effort led the Mustangs (2-1) past the Seagulls in Monmouth.
Frost finished with 18 points, including three 3-pointers, six rebounds, four blocks, four steals and three assists. Maeve Burgess scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Monmouth.
Tessa Fergusen was Old Orchard Beach’s leading scorer wit 14 points, and Corinne Androkitis had nine.
MT. ABRAM 62, WATERVILLE 22: Ten players scored for the Roadrunners in their win over the Purple Panthers in Salem Township.
Kharlie Turner led Mt. Abram (2-0) with 14 points, while Jenna Osgood had 12 points.
Madison Wilson led Waterville (0-3) with five points.
BOYS HOCKEY
LEWISTON 6, MARSHWOOD/TRAIP/SANFORD/NOBLE 1: Austin Landry had a hat trick in the Blue Devils’ (2-1) win over Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble (0-1) at the Dover Ice Arena in Dover, New Hampshire.
Cam Plourde scored twice and Colten Daniels added a goal and had an assist. Lewiston goalie Will Routhier made 26 saves.
Drew Vessels had the lone goal for Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble.
