Margaret Megan Roberts

FARMINGTON – Margaret Megan Roberts, 69, passed away peacefully in Farmington with her loving and supportive family by her side. Megan was diagnosed with cancer in July of 2023, and unfortunately it was a rarer cancer and had already spread too much to be able to overcome.

For over a year she packed in fun and travel between treatments as she enjoyed her friends and family. She was a free spirit, a yogi, a teacher, a motorcyclist, a pedal biker, a hiker, and a lifetime lover of her many friends and family.

Megan was born in Farmington Maine on Nov. 22, 1955, to Gwilym and Pat Roberts, the third daughter of five. From an early age Megan loved the outdoors and sports, and when she took her first ski lesson at Titcomb Mt. she found a sport that made her heart sing.

She attended Mt. Blue High School and Plymouth State College in New Hampshire, excelling in skiing. This led to a life of working in the ski industry in both Eastern and Western Ski Areas. In the summers she was an innkeeper, which often allowed for a month adventuring in the fall and spring, where she traveled far and wide.

Upon her return to Farmington Maine in the late ’90’s, she became manager of the mountain she learned to ski on, and revived Titcomb, mentoring many young employees and students along the way. In 2018 she wrote a book on the history of Titcomb Mountain, which received the International Ski History Association’s Skade Award for excellence in preserving history. Megan was also President of Ski Maine Association, was inducted into the Maine Ski Hall of Fame, and was instrumental in the development of the Maine Ski and Snowboard Museum.

Megan is survived by sisters, Beth, Janet, Sara, Meredith, Meredith’s husband Jeff Rehbach, and nieces, Rachelle Péan and Seikah Roberts.

Family and friends are invited to attend Megan’s visitation on Friday, January 31, 4-6 p.m., at Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday February 1, at 2 p.m., from Old South Congregational Church, 235 Main Street, Farmington. Refreshments will be served following. Memories and photos may be shared in her Book of Memories at http://www.wilesrc.com where live-streaming of her services will be available to those not being able to attend.

Honored to be caring for the family and friends of Megan Roberts is the Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington.

In lieu of flowers, Megan asks that you donate to something dear to your heart and think of her in doing so.
