DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are a senior couple looking for someone to snowplow and snowblow our two driveways and paths on our property. Is there a service like this in the Lewiston area? — No name, no town
ANSWER: I edited your letter a tad because you included some personal information you don’t want to put out into the world.
To get assistance and to be safe, I suggest you contact SeniorsPlus and request that someone in Community Services help you get connected with a local contractor to meet your needs. If you’re not familiar with the organization, now is the time to get acquainted!
SeniorsPlus has so much to offer to make your life easier while you continue to live independently in your own home. They have fun, informative activities and events you can join, and opportunities to volunteer helping others in your community.

Fellow Sun Spotters, if you are a reliable, trustworthy helper to make wintertime easier for this couple, and are willing to share the information please let us know.
Or if you can recommend someone, that would be wonderful too!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Beginning Saturday, Feb. 1, The Drop-in Center will be at 121 Mill St. in Auburn. This location doubles our guest space, creates a larger free store for our clothing, and provides plenty of space for off-season storage.
By May, we will have three showers available for our guests and a commercial kitchen to prepare our food. — Sue, no town
ANSWER: This nonprofit is very dear to me and I’m so proud of all you volunteers for making this happen. Keep us posted regarding your hours and what you need. I’ll keep everyone informed!
