Carline Lillian Berube

LEWISTON – Carline Lillian Berube, 75, of Whitefield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Van Buren, on Dec. 8, 1949, the daughter of the late Rene and Sadie (Langlais) Lebel.

She was a graduate of Van Buren High School class of 1967. Shortly after graduation she had married the love of her life, Roger G. Berube on July 5, 1969. As part of a double wedding ceremony with Roger’s brother, Maurice Berube and his wife Pauline (Lebrecque) Berube.

She was employed for General Electric until the birth of her daughter, Brandy, in 1980. She then remained as a stay-at-home mother until her three children had left her nest.

Carline loved to read. Some of her favorite authors were John Sanford, James Patterson and John Grisham to name a few. She enjoyed four wheeling, partridge hunting but most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and close friends especially Nancy and Joseph Davis and Ron and Pauline Bureau.

She was most frequently seen in a pair of jeans and a sweater. If you saw her in a dress you would have thought you would have seen a unicorn.

She is survived by one daughter, Brandy Galway of Auburn, two sons, Jay Berube and his wife Holly of Whitefield, and Kevin Berube and his wife Kimberly of Belleville, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson and a great-granddaughter on the way; one sister, Maxine Akerly and her husband Ken of St. Leonard, N.B., Canada, one brother, Alfred “Chou” Lebel and his wife Lou of Brewer, a brother-in-law, Rene Violette of Grand Isle; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roger G. Berube who died on Feb. 26, 2018; her sister, Rena Violette who died on Oct. 31, 2018.
