Cancer. It isn’t always a death edict anymore.

Dozens of cancer survivors will demonstrate that on Friday during the Relay For Life walk in Auburn. Area cancer survivors will send “an affirmation of life” when they join for several hours of fun and fundraising at Walton School field this coming Friday and Saturday.

The sixth annual “Relay For Life” sponsored by the American Cancer Society opens at 6 p.m. Friday, May 14. As in the past, the Relay will begin with cancer survivors walking, running or “wheelchairing” at least the first lap in honor of their own personal fight with cancer and the progress they have made, and to signify to others that they can beat cancer.
