DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Hartford Heritage Society would like to thank everyone who participated in our plant sale in May. You might have donated plants, bought some plants, or purchased raffle tickets. The sale was a great success and we’ll do it again next year the day before Mother’s Day.

Our next fundraiser will be a yard sale at the J & O Irish Museum on Main Street/Route 140 in Hartford on June 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eain date is June 30. The sale will be held on the lawn. We would love to have others join us. You can bring your own table and pop-up canopy. The fee is $10 per table.

We are also looking for donations for our tables and can collect items in advance and store them in the barn. If you have items to donate, please call Rosie at 597-2270, Natasha at 212-9350 or Doreen at 224-7147.  All proceeds from these fundraisers go to restoring the museum.

Thank you to Sun Spots for all the great publicity that you give us and other organizations, along with all kinds of advice. It is all greatly appreciated. — Doreen, Hartford

ANSWER: This is the time of year when you could keep busy going to yard sales every single weekend! Be sure to carve out some time to go through your own closets, basements, garages, and attics to discover what you can donate to your favorite area nonprofit. Organizations depend on all of us to hand over the goods and it’s a great thing for everyone!
