At age 90, I recall the strong bipartisanship of our Democrat and Republican parties during the second world war. We joined in celebrating the conquer of our enemies: Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan.

Republicans and Democrats seldom work together now. They consider the other party their worst enemy, encouraged by Donald Trump, who hopes to dissolve bipartisan activity in our country and obliterate trust in one another.

With constant repetition of lies and empty promises, Trump acquired the many innocent followers believing him when he said that, only with him leading the MAGA movement, could America be great again.

Preparing us for his expected dictatorship, I recall him saying, Christians will “never have to vote again.”

His dictator friends don’t allow anyone who want to replace them, either. Russia’s Vladimir Putin is known to have directed the physical elimination of opposition and his other dictator friends may be secretly doing much the same.

In his first presidency, Trump went to North Korea. He was impressed with Kim Jong Un, who has a giant statue of himself that the people are required to kneel to, with heads down in adoration.

Trump’s desire for such power is well known. His Jan. 6, 2021 direction leads us to his true designs.

One who blindly defends him from proven crimes he committed, laughs off his lies and elects him, allows him to erase charges against himself and to lead our country as the new self-proclaimed dictator.
