Janet G. Wright
WILTON – Janet G. Wright, 86, formerly of Wilton, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
She was born on Jan. 6, 1936, in Auburn, and grew up in Jay, graduating from Jay High School in 1953. Her life truly found its meaning and purpose when she found her true and only love, Harold. They took a small house, just up the street from Dutch Treat in Wilton, and turned it into a home filled with love, laughter, and the best recipes you’ve ever had. Janet had a passion for cooking and making sure everyone she loved dearly was around her table and well-fed. If she wasn’t spotted outside her home tending her garden or playing with her beloved cat, Rusty, she could be found at her camp in Wells, where she made lasting memories with her family and friends. Janet will be remembered for her kind and caring soul, her strong will, and her willingness to always share her opinion.
Janet spent her life ensuring the people she loved were well taken care of, may her soul now rest, knowing that they are.
She is blessed to have her husband Harold (1998); son, Raymond (2011), and daughter, Cindy (2020) waiting for her at Heaven’s gate. Janet is survived by sister, Denise Hunter; her loving daughter, Deborah Hodge; her nieces and nephews; along with her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Thoma, Daniel Thoma, Mike Thoma, Brandi Griffin, Bridgett Ames, David Ames, and Thomas Ames. Janet was blessed to also have 17 great-grandchildren; and seveb great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside memorial will be held at River Grove Cemetery in Leeds for family.
Memories may be shared in her Book of Memories at http://www.wilesrc.com. Wiles Remembrance Center of Jay is honored to be caring for cremation services.
In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made in her name to the
Greater Androscoggin
Humane Society
in honor of her beloved cat, Rusty.
