SOUTH PARIS – Lewis A. “Louie” Marcotte, 94, of Oxford, died Friday, Oct. 21, at Market Square Health Care Center.
He was born in Oxford on Oct. 21, 1911, the son of Leon T. and Ethel J. Woodman Marcotte. He graduated from Oxford High School and had been employed at Robinson Manufacturing until his retirement in 1975.
He was past master of the West Paris Grange and a member of the Rumford Grange. He enjoyed gardening, rock collecting and cooking.
He married Marguerite Waterhouse on Jan. 1, 1934; she passed away in November 1988.
He is survived by two sons, Roger of Oxford and Leon of Poland; a granddaughter, Jo Ellen Cauldwell of Georgia; two great-granddaughters, Amanda and Kristiana; a great-grandson, Lawrence III; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy Lantz, in 2003; and a brother, Francis L. Marcotte, on Oct. 13.
