1901 – 2003

LEWISTON – Liziane E. Giasson, 101, of 1223 Sabattus Road died Monday, June 16, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 5, 1901, a daughter of Alexis and Elmina Cote Lebrun and was educated in Lewiston schools. She was employed as a private housekeeper for many years in Lewiston residences around Bates College. One was the family of Senator Georgette Berube.

She loved getting together with her family and traveled to many places.

She also was an avid reader of french books, liked eating out and her favorite animal was a cat.

At her 100th birthday party she also danced with the music she loved. Mrs. Giasson is a member of Holy Family Parish.

She is survived by her four children, Mr. Adrien Giasson of Lisbon, a daughter, Henriette Bergeron of Lewiston, Andre Giasson and wife Alta of Auburn, Raymond Giasson and his wife Peggy of North Carolina who came home to see her last week; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 62 great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Roger Bussiere who was married to the late Annabelle Giasson Bussiere a daughter.

She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Annabelle Bussiere; three sons, Armand, Robert and Maurice Giasson; @Normal:a son-in-law, Emilien Bergeron; @Text:two sisters; and four brothers.
