SABATTUS – Unlike the children’s books that the struggling Town Square Community Library has been storing in boxes for the past several months, this real-life story will not have a happy ending.

Due to the unfortunate passing of the Sabattus Residential Care Building’s owner, the space that was promised to the library has been revoked by the new owner, leaving the volunteer library out on the curb once again.

Board of Trustees Chairwoman Robin Dulac said there is nothing else that can be done. “We really have decided to let it go,” she said. “Any help we get now is just too little too late.”

Although books are still stored at the Sabattus Residential Care Building the library trustees said the literature donated by the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant, awarded to the town three years ago, would be returned to the agency and a large portion of the grant would be dispersed to the local school system.
